Unlike the seemlingly rest of my college cohorts, I never made the right of passage study abroad trip nor the post-grad back packing through Europe excursion. My family trips as a kid were limited to the shores of Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina with the exception of one (terrible.awful.dont.ever.do.it) road trip to New York. Needless to say, I have never been abroad. And frankly, I didn’t think I would get the opportunity to head on a European vacation of my own for years to come. But this blog post is a happy blog post because this girl is heading to London and Paris in 30 days!
One of my closest and best friends (the beautiful lady who’s engagement party I shared last year) is living in London for a year. With the cost of hotel/hostel eliminated, this really was an opportunity I couldn’t not take. Danielle (another best friend/perma roomie/soul mate/travel buddy) and I are flying to LHR at the end of February, jumping on a train to Paris for the weekend, then spending a week in London. Words can barely begin to describe my excitement. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to travel to such beautiful places, and I count my lucky stars daily.
To prepare for the trip and help countdown the days until adventure, I’m starting a little weekly mini-series on Wednesdays. Get ready for travel themed lust lists, packing essentials, European inspiration, and most importantly, lots and lots of questions from me (what should I pack, where should I go??).
