January

Life Lately: Happy Day 2 of 2014! I can’t tell yet if I am particularly excited for 2014, or if I get this way about every New Year. Every thing seems so fresh and new, and I have so much to look forward to this year: a trip abroad, a big move, and potentially a puppy by years end. As far as this past year, I’m pretty darn happy with how 2013 turned out too. I’m one big ball of optimism over here, huh?

What I’m Watching: Or rather, what I’m counting down the days to watch-Shameless. One of my favorite shows-I swoon for miss Emmy Rossum.

What I’m Reading: Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese for book club. Which I am admittingly not far enough in to comment on. Which is trouble since book club is in 6 days. Whoops.

What I’m Excited About: London and Paris in February. I can finally say “I’m going to Europe next month!” which is bizarre and wild and thrilling. Get ready for a few travel posts on the blog.

What’s Inspiring Me: Outdoor porches, bright office spaces, white tulle skirts, straight monograms, and (faux) cowhide rugs.

December Was: Good on my heart. The holidays are such a special time of the year. I’m grateful for the fresh optimism that January brings, otherwise it would be a tough transition into the next month.

January Will Be: Clear. With so much going on (travel, moves, work, blog), I’ve been a bit all over the place the past few months. I’m ready to take this month and organize life. Now let’s see how that transitions to Something Southern ; )
