Christmas in the mail

Christmas in the mail

One of my dearest friends and her fiance are living in London for a year (I shared their amazing engagement party photos over here). While I am beyond jealous of the two of them, I also miss them like crazy. Since I won’t be able to spend the holidays in London, I wanted to send a little Christmas in the mail. Inspired by this DIY over at Oh Happy Day, I put together a little surprise to send abroad. {total side note, can y’all believe this is two DIY’s in one week! I haven’t crafted in ages. Must be the holidays ; ) }

Materials:

Mailing tube

Sparkly craft paper

String

Wrapping Paper

Mail labels

Spray Paint

Tape

Directions:

1. First up, I made the mailing tube a little better looking by wrapping it with gold wrapping paper. I also spray painted the two stoppers gold.

2. Cut out letters to spell out whatever Christmas phrase you’d like! I kept it simple with a “Merry Christmas” and added a heart : )

3. Using a needle and your string, thread your letters together

4. Tape the beginning of the phrase to one of the stoppers. Be sure to note “Open on this end” on that stopper.

5. Add decorative labels or decorate as you wish, but don’t forget to leave room for plenty of postage!

Christmas in the mail_5

I dropped this bad boy off at the Post Office today, I am so excited for it to arrive. It’s such a meaningful gift to mail to a loved one far away.

I’d love to know, how do you share your Christmas spirit with friends and family who you can’t see over the holidays?
