Back in August, I had the marvelous idea that I needed to have a bar cart worthy of entertaining. As is, the cart (okay, the bookshelf) was really just a messy collection of our wine, liquor, and beverage glasses. Nothing matched, there was no rhyme or reason, and as you can see for yourself, it wasn’t pretty.
I put this project to the back burner for weeks, then months because I really just wasn’t feeling inspired. I dreamed of an actual cart, of gold details, of lucite and vintage wheels. I couldn’t justify buying a new cart though (even when this beauty debuted at Target), so I finally settled on a design plan.
Woooweee, y’all I am so thrilled about how it turned out. After a few coats of black spray paint, some gold rub n buff, and an Ikea wine holder, our bar cart is entertain-ready!
While my calligraphy skills still need some work, I scribbled one of my favorite bar cart worthy quotes by Charles Baudelaire.
Recognize this guy from our Autumn Brunch shoot?
I am so glad I finally bit the bullet and finished this cart up. It’s just in time for the holidays too (although we’re lacking a dining room table to actually host anyone-whoops!).
