lust list:: spring is coming

Spring-Lust-List copy

Gammill Painting :: One King’s Lane /// Clean Shift Dress :: Asos /// Farm Anatomy :: Anthropologie  /// Viemette Sandal :: Nordstrom  /// Canvas Bag :: Shop Bando  /// Turquoise and Caicos :: Essie /// Kimono in Floral :: Asos /// Zinke Weekender One Piece :: Shopbop /// Sun Spectrum Collection :: Warby Parker

Mentally, I’m ready for Spring. My closet? Not so much. I’m craving clean lines, like in that Asos Shift Dress. But I also want some fun patterns like the kimono. And don’t get me started on one-pieces. I can’t finger point when I evolved from a bikini-only girl, but I have been on a mission this season to find the perfect one piece. I love the color and fun flare of this Shopbop pick. To top it all off-a pop of pink from the new Shop Bando collection and of course, a new pair of Warby Parker sunnies. For my home, I’m in the market for a good abstract painting for our new bedroom. OKL has the best picks-I swear!

What’s on your Spring lust list?

Introducing Warby Parker Spectrum Sun Collection

Warby Parker is a brand I am totally wild for. They are one of those companies that really seem to “get it” with their Do Good and free Home Try On program. WP makes it easy to look good and do good, which in my book, is a home-run.  Spectrum_gradient_HALL Spectrum_gradient_MINNIE

With Spring starting in a few weeks, I’ve been on the search high and low for a good pair of sunglasses to last me through Summer. Typically, I end up stocking up on a couple pairs from Target or Forever 21 with the expectation that they’ll end up at the bottom of the lake by the end of the summer (you can judge my irresponsibility, it’s okay). Shockingly, I want to be a reasonable grown up this year and invest in a great pair, so I was thrilled to hear about the new Spectrum Sun collection from Warby Parker.

Isn’t every pair to-die for? I really can’t even call these a budget-killing investment because the whole collection runs at $95.

Right now I’m leaning towards Hall Cherry Blossom (the fourth), I’m picturing the pair with a dark tan and a crisp summer white dress. But Minnie Eucalyptus (the sixth pair) is tugging at my heart too. They would go with an array of outfits and styles.

What do you think of the collection? Which pair should I go for??

travels abroad: fashion inspiration

this is the fourth post in my travel series leading up to my upcoming trip to Paris and London. See part 1, part 2, and part 3.

To say I am constantly thinking about what I’ll be wearing in Paris and London is an understatement. Every single blog I find on the subject tells me: black, black, black. Which, okay I get, and I’ll try to adhere to for the most part, but I’ll likely have to sneak some color in here and there.

valentine’s day outfit inspiration

This Valentine’s Day, whether you’re going out for a fancy dinner, checking out a casual restaurant, being wined and dined at home by your beau, or spending a night out with all of your girlfriends, you want to dress to impress. I’m still completely clueless of my Valentine’s Day plans (and my Valentine’s Day outfit), so I gathered some outfit inspiration for all occasions :)

valentine’s day gift guide: for him and her

valentine's day gift guide

HERS:: Shopbop Gorjana Ring /// Kate Spade Metro Watch /// Love Letters of Great Men /// The Mighty Purse /// Daisy by Marc Jacobs

HIS:: Ray Bans /// Monogrammed BBQ Set /// Boker Pocket Knife /// Sur La Table Whiskey Decanter /// Lucien Piccard Brown Leather Watch

Valentine’s Day gift ideas are always harder to come up with than Christmas and birthdays. It seems for the latter, you can always fall back on something your significant other needs, but for Valentine’s Day gifts, you want to find something meaningful or romantic.

For Her, it’s always a win to add some new shiny jewelry to her collection, but you may consider her favorite perfume or a romantic book, such as Love Letters of Great Men.

For Him, it can be a little more tough. I’d say stray towards something he really wants instead of something he needs, like socks or a new tie. Whiskey related gifts always seem to be a win, but I also love the idea of adding a simple monogram to this BBQ set.

What do you all think? Any other good Valentine’s Day gift guide suggestions?

travels abroad::lust list

Last week, I introduced a new travel series on SoSo leading up to my trip to Europe at the end of February. An intended Wednesday series that had to be modified this week as a result of Atlanta’s own Snowmageddon. I’ll be resuming next Wed again : )

I am still in utter shock that I am even going to be in London and Paris in three short weeks, so let’s just say, there are quite a few pieces missing from my pack list. Not only am I lusting on the below, most of them are pretty essential to my travels.

SoSoTravelsAbroad_LustList_1

SoSoTravelsAbroad_LustList_2

1:: Starlet Umbrella by 2PennyBlue /// 2:: Mrs. Maxi Skirt by Bel and Beau /// 3:: Michael Michael Kors Gold Tote via Maple and West /// 4:: Pixie Pant by J.Crew /// 5:: Kate Spade Gramercy Grand Bracelet Watch via Nordstrom /// 6:: Triple C Universal Charger by J.Crew /// 7:: Fleece Leggings by Shopbop /// 8:: Faux Leather Weekender by Forever 21

As you can see, the list isn’t exactly short, but it’s manageable. There are a few things I’m totally torn about.

Maple&West_MichaelKors_EastWestTote_Gold

the bag:: When we arrive in London, we are literally high tailing it to our lovely host’s house to drop off our big bags, pack a weekender, then high tail it again to catch our train to Paris. That being said, I want a good bag that can (hopefully) be all of these three things: my carry-on, a weekender, my day to day bag. The third qualification is a huge stretch because every carry-on/weekender is too large to carry around the cities all day, but I can’t just use a clutch either because I want to bring my DSLR. I’m trying to avoid buying two bags, but I’m considering the Forever 21 alternative above because it is significantly cheaper than most options and leaves room in my budget to buy an additional day bag. But then, I need to find a day bag. Suggestions? Tips?

ShopBop_FleeceLinedLeggings

fleece leggings and tights:: I can’t for the life of me find a pair with great reviews. Of tights or leggings. Every single pair I find has awful reviews (not worth the money, pilling, easily tears, etc). Does anyone have a good resource for a quality pair? I’m happy to pay for a good pair, I know they will be life saver, but I am very wary to spend money on legggings and tights that won’t last past the trip.

JCrew_PixiePant

pixie pants:: I’m such a J.Crew Factory junkie, so I found the pixie pants alternative-the gigi pant. They are already $40 cheaper (and from what I’ve heard, almost the exact same with the except of zipper placement), but the saver in me wants to wait until J.Crew Factory has one of their amazing sales. I’m starting to cut it close though….

A Little Dash of Darling_Mrs. Maxi_Bel and Beau via A Little Dash of Darling

and as for that Bel and Beau skirt…:: You know that one outfit you always dream of, whether it’s a dress or a skirt or the perfect pair of jeans, but you can never seem to find it? You picture it in your head, but you’re not really sure it exists? I have been day dreaming about what I would wear in Paris, and I had a gorgeous blue-as-the-ocean floor length skirt prancing around my head. Then, I discovered Bel and Beau. The Mrs. Skirt is without fault the most radiant skirt of my dreams. Minus the price tag. I know it theory it is definitely affordable, but considering the price I’ll be paying for even a latte in Paris, I’m hesitant to take this plunge. But it’s so beautiful…..

Desperate for advice and tips over here from all of you well-traveled folks. Any advice is welcomed with very very open arms ; )
